Pinnacle Peak was closed to the public due to construction of the new Estancia housing development. However, in honor of the 50th anniversary of when Pinnacle Peak was first summited in December 1947, the City of Scottsdale allowed climbers to climb on the peak for one day. I created a special summit register so everybody that summited the peak could sign their name in honor of the 50th anniversary. Approximately 65 climbers came to the event.
