A healer named Orion was out for a walk and stumbled upon a small black kitten that was partially hiding from Orion’s view. Orion asked the kitten to come forward so they could properly meet, but the kitten remained in its place. So Orion asked again, “Oh kitten with eyes of gold, please let’s us greet each other as great friends.”

You see, the earth went through a rough patch, and not much was left. The sky was continually dark overshadowed with clouds that were obstructing the suns light and warmth. Not many people were around anymore. Three quarters of the human population that was, became no more. Some people blamed God for the terrible destruction, but God remained humble while the people wrestled with their destructive free will decisions.

Orion softly laughed at the kitten and then mentioned that there was no rush for their friendship that was already meant to be. He pointed and told the kitten that, “This trail leads to my house.” “I will be preparing a meal for two tonight and will say greetings to you once you arrive.” Orion began walking away and only after a few steps, he could feel that the kitten was already following him, and they walked together on the trail.

By the time they reached the house, Orion had a good feeling that the kitten was enjoying his company, since the kitten somewhat demanded to be carried for the remainder of the hike. And once at the house, the kitten became very curious and was thoroughly investigating all of Orion’s belongings. It didn’t take long for the kitten to choose its spot on Orion’s bed, as she began cleaning herself in preparation of dinner time. Orion was thrilled to have company in his life. A Blessing he mentions. He has been alone for some time now and has purposely kept distant from the other people. He knows that the world is in darkness, and darkness only attracts other darkness. But a unexpected change has taken place. A kitten suddenly shows up, and shows up out of nowhere.

The meal was one of the greatest that the two of them shared. Orion was not holding back as he made sure there was enough food for a second serving. After the kitten could not fit any more food into its belly, it curled up on Orion’s bed, and was asleep for the entire night. Orion made sure that the heat from the fireplace kept its burning, to give continual warmth to his new friend.

In the morning the kitten wasted no time on finding it’s way into the pantry. Orion awoke hearing the rustling of bags and a cat that was getting into just about everything. Orion gasped and then mentions, “Well if you are going to be my company, I must give you a name. It is obvious that you are lead by curiosity, so I will name you “Mischief.” The kitten simply replied, “But I already have a name. My name is Akaldeep.” The kitten was speaking, but Orion was only hearing the standard cat language of “Meow, Meow.” So over the next few days it was “Mischief this” and “Mischief that.” Eventually the kitten accepted her new given name. Mischief it is.

The present time of year is the beginning of the second season which usually brings rain to the land. But now the sky is without water. The North Forest where Orion’s house is located used to be the lushest forest in the land, but now not even one leaf remains on the trees. What is a benefit is that Orion’s house is plenty of miles away from pretty much everybody. The discovery of a slow dripping spring brings water to Orion’s life, however the absence of sunlight quickly causes the earths vegetation to retreat. In the night there is only darkness, a darkness so dark that even darkness gets lost within it. The darkness trespasses everywhere. Not even one star is seen by anybody. The daytime sun is distantly present, but creates no shadows. The light is not brave enough to announce its presence within the darkness.

In God’s realm the angels are witnessing God within humbleness yes, but then occasionally in a loud expressive manner, God lets out gasp of compassion. And yes you heard that, there that gasp of compassion is again!!! The angels cheer!!! God in thought reflects God as most-present and this is great for the Earth Project. In the book of legends it mentions a great healer who carried God’s Light to rid the world of darkness. This great healer is named, “Akaldeep.” Hmmm the question of “why” within Gods next decision was never explained, but suddenly a small black kitten with gold colored eyes is sent to earth, as a gift. God names this kitten, Akaldeep.” But the Akaldeep that was, now became the Mischief that is.

Orion’s mission every day centered on finding food since Orion knew that without food, there will be no Orion. Food was most important. Staying away from the darkness was most important as well however Orion’s healing ability had a way of repelling the darkness. Even though darkness continually attempted to infect Orion’s wisdom, Orion knew he had the upper hand of protection. Orion quickly could heal any problem that arose from darkness’ feeble attempts.

Mischief over time became bored with Orion’s same same daily schedule, so she decided to do some exploring on her own. She decided to walk back down the trail that first led her to Orion’s house. Mischief had her own method of chasing the darkness away. Anytime Mischief became excited her gold eyes would light up and the space around her became bright. Also anytime Mischief squinted her eyes and made sure her smile was covered, her black fur coat blended into the darkness so well, that even darkness could not find her.

Once at the beginning of the trail, Mischief sat and sighed since there was not much to be entertained by. I mean there was an occasional whisk of wind, but not even a insect was around to be toyed with. So Mischief wandered deeper into the forest where she eventually came upon a tree that had single ray of sunlight touching it. It wasn’t much of a ray of sunlight, very tiny actually, but somehow sunlight was touching this tree. It was a amazing sight to see! The tree was completely filled with green and other colored leaves and somehow stood resistant to the darkness. “Oh look at that, there’s even a grasshopper and I want it,” Mischief exclaimed!!! Mischief sprung into action and chased the grasshopper up the tree’s trunk and onto a large branch that was high up above the ground. With all claws focused on the catch, the grasshopper somehow still got away. Mischief licked her paw twice and laughingly said, “I meant for that grasshopper to live, yes…yes.”

While Mischief was high up in the tree and was still in excitement, her glowing eyes were making additional light. She looked over and noticed a odd split in the tree branches where a bird was laying silent and still. Mischief wasted no time as she first apologized while toning down the extra brightness that was coming from her eyes, then happily and proudly stating that her name was Mischief. “Hi my name is Mischief, what is your name?,” she asked. The bird sat quiet and became even more scared. So Mischief came up with a cleaver thought of using Orion’s technique on how to

get somebody to his house. Mischief told the bird, “Hey this trail leads to my house. I will be preparing a dinner for two … etc…etc,” Mischief climbed back down the tree and started walking to the trail while occasionally looking back. After a few more enthusiastic steps Mischief could see that the bird was not following. “Silly Orion trick,” Mischief exclaimed. “Nobody will fall for his trick,” she exclaimed again, even though she was the one that first responded to Orion’s home invitation.
Picture

After a few moments of thought, Mischief climbs back up into the tree to talk to the bird once again. She lovingly tells the bird that she is a friend. The bird in a whispering voice replies, “Thank You.” Mischief hearing the birds reply jumps into excitement asking a second time for the birds name. The bird replies, “I do not have a name.” Mischief thought it is odd for somebody to not have a name so Mischief replied, “Well I have two names and you can have one of mine.” “Okay how about the name Akaldeep?” “Akaldeep is a cool name!” “How about I call you Akaldeep.” “What do you think Akaldeep?” “Do you like the name Akaldeep?” After Mischief calmed down from her prancing, the bird accepted the name and told Mischief that she can call him Akaldeep. “I like the name Akaldeep,” Akaldeep said. Akaldeep then told her that he was quite sick and could not join her at her house but thanked her for her invitation. Mischief thought nothing of it and told Akaldeep, “I have a friend that can help you, but first I must find a way to bring my friend to your tree. Akaldeep watched Mischief reach up into the tree and break off a cluster of nuts, then climb back down the tree and disappear into the dark forest.

Orion was warming the house as Mischief arrived with information to share. Mischief spoke aloud, “Meow meow! Meow! meow Meow MEOW! But Orion didn’t have much to say. He remained staring at the pantry that was becoming more empty than full. Mischief spoke aloud again, “meow, Meow, MEOW,” and then dropped the cluster of nuts at Orion’s feet, lit her eyes up glowing in excitement, and watched Orion’s entire self turn into absolute joy. The cluster of nuts was accompanied with two glorious green leaves attached to them. Orion in one hand picked up Mischief, and in the other hand held the cluster of nuts and raised them both to the sky as he chanted great praise and danced around the room.
Picture

Once Orion calmed his celebration, Mischief grabbed the cluster of nuts and ran out of the front door with them. Orion feeling shocked at first, went to the door and saw Mischief sitting and waiting for him ten feet away from the house on the trail. Basically informing Orion that time is at hand so let’s go!! Once on the trail Mischief kept the lead, and any time Orion tried to catch up with her she would move faster. Orion eventually broke out in laughter as he began looking at his response to Mischief’s sudden excitement and haste, as he huffed and puffed trying to keep up with his own running legs. “Good grief girl, what has gotten into you,” Orion said, as they now ran the trail together.

Once the tree was in sight, Orion’s pace got slower and slower. He became shocked of what he was seeing. What impressed him the most was the beautiful tiny ray of sunlight. Not that there was a tiny ray of sunlight, but how close he actually was right then to touching the sunlight. Orion also couldn’t believe how many nuts were on this tree as he shouted aloud, “There is enough food here on this one tree to survive two full seasons!!!” Orion became drunk in laughter as he danced around the tree giving praise. Mischief on the other hand had already climbed up the tree and was awaiting to get Orion’s attention. She thought to herself, “Yes ray of light, yes nuts, yes green leaves, yes yes but um like hello.…….there’s like this bird here.”

Orion’s dance was shortened by him hearing Mischief’s cries for help. She acted as though she was stuck up in the tree. “Meowwww Meowww help me,” she cried and cried, while her silent eyes showed the look of self humiliation. Orion was quick on the rescue and once he climbed up onto the tree’s branch, he saw Mischief sitting with the sick bird. Orion now understood the importance of their present mission. He however was not fully prepared for this type of rescue but he did his best to get everybody safely to the ground. Even if he had to carry them on his shoulders. Shall I mention, carry both of them on his shoulders at the same time on the down climb. Orion says, “Good grief!”

Orion wrapped the sick bird in his shirt, filled his pockets with nuts from the tree, and then they headed back to the house. On the walk home he contemplated if this bird, which is actually quite a big bird, should be staying inside the house? So once at the house Orion made a nesting area for the bird on a tree next to the house. He then created a mixture of healing herbs medicine to give to the bird along with a meal, and made sure the bird was comfortable in it’s new nesting location. Of course Mischief watched closely over the entire process. Mischief however didn’t like that her new friend was outside, while she wanted to stay inside where it was warmer. This overall was a big day for everybody and without hesitation, everybody went to sleep early.
Picture

In the morning Orion was surprised that Mischief was not in her usual sleeping spot which shares the bed. It didn’t take long for him to discover that now there are two new small beds located next to the fireplace, one with Mischief, and one with a bird. Orion could now get a better view of the bird and it has the look of a young male eagle. But just like Mischief, it presents the question of where did this bird come from? Orion put more wood on the fire to heat up the house and as he did so, Mischief quietly peeked upwards to see if she was in trouble for inviting her friend into the house. Orion was more grateful for having Mischief and this bird in his life, than needing to be upset with Mischief’s decisions. Orion’s next thought was preparing a breakfast for three, then returning to the birds green tree in the forest to collect a large amount of food to overfill his pantry.

After breakfast Orion left the house with many empty bags in hand and back to the green tree he went. Mischief and Akaldeep remained at the house allowing time for Akaldeep to get used to his new surroundings. Akaldeep slept for most of the day while Mischief rearranged the house to allow more room for her new great friend. Once Orion was at the green tree, Orion sat for a great amount of time and pondered on what he was seeing. The entire forest appeared to be entirely dead, but yet this green tree somehow lives. There are nuts to harvest, berries, forest greens, and even insects. It is strange that the ray of sunlight is not present like it was the day before, and the green leaves on the tree now look like they are wilting. Orion gathered all that he could carry and while displaying a enormous smile, Orion danced all the way back to the house.

As Orion approached he was noticing that the house appeared more alive. The house looked like it was in better lighting or something, looked more colorful, and even a green vine had taken root just outside of the front door. Orion was excited to be back at the house. He wanted to be with his friends especially now since food was plentiful. As Orion opened the house door he was excitedly greeted. Mischief filled the air with conversation of, “Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow,” and I think a dozen more Meow’s followed that! Akaldeep was content sitting on the kitchen table, and he looked absolutely majestic.

Orion and Mischief joined Akaldeep at the table, then Orion began to give greater inspection to Akaldeep, especially his wings. Even though Orion lovingly asked, Akaldeep insisted on not lifting his wings and began to tell his story of why. Within his story telling, Akaldeep attempted  to show Orion and Mischief how the lifting of his wings affected the darkness. However Akaldeep lifted his wings, but no darkness came. Akaldeep lifted his wings again, and again no darkness came. With a confused look, Akaldeep spread his wings as far as he could and held them wide open, and still no darkness came.

You see, the darkness stays close but has no affect on Orion because of his healing ability. Mischief’s glowing eyes makes the darkness retreat but yet the darkness still remains in view. But Akaldeep’s wings let out a mist of light that dissolves darkness, and darkness was not accepting that. So no matter what, darkness insists on attacking Akaldeep any time Akaldeep opens his wings. But now as Orion and Mischief sit with Akaldeep, no darkness can reach him.
Picture

Orion humbly announces that this bird must have a name and he begins to shout out name suggestions. Mischief, while rolling her eyes, remained silent. Akladeep interrupts by giving a high pitch shout, and with his beak he proceeds to scratch the letters “AKALDEEP” into the wooden top of the kitchen table. At first Orion was concerned with his table being carved into, but then became amazed that this bird actually knew how to write! After Akaldeep’s carving was completed, both Mischief and Akaldeep pointed at the name. Orion then also pointed at the carved name and laughingly replied, “Well I guess it is unanimous then! Your name is Akaldeep.” Confirmed by hand, wing and paw! Mischief was proud that she provided the special name for her friend.

Over the next many days, Orion and Mischief set up a training course for Akaldeep. Mischief was using her glowing eyes to keep the darkness away which allowed Akaldeep more time to learn how to spread his wings, and without fear of the darkness attacking. The more Akaldeep opened his wings, the more darkness was dissolved allowing sunlight to come to the house. Day after day Orion and Mischief were having great fun teaching Akaldeep to fly. Even though darkness was throughout, the three of them shared continual laughter.

Over time the forest around the house was becoming green and lush with plants that were all growing at a fast rate. Orion planted a garden and within days the seeds sprouted, the plants grew, and a harvest became. As Akaldeep and Mischief played, Orion sat and pondered as he spiritually knew that Akaldeep was not sent here for only Orion and Mischief, but for the whole world. Orion knew that even though the three of them presently have safety at the house, eventually darkness will consume the whole earth, which then may include the three of them as well.

“Take Akaldeep to the town?” Mischief screaming Orion’s suggestion as she disagreed completely. Orion explained the overall earth situation again, but Mischief was not having any part of it. Akaldeep remained quiet in the conversation and was shaking. Orion assured Mischief and Akaldeep that this plan may work and may even somehow save the entire earth. Already Akaldeep knew that his safety in life was him staying close to Orion and Mischief, so Akaldeep broke the silence by saying, “I am willing to give this a try.” Mischief started pacing and shouting, “So suddenly the bird is a hero, and this healer guy will probably just slow us down, and, and, and…. Okay, I’m in!”

With a fast pace it takes two days to reach the nearest town. And there is no guarantee that there are any people still living in that town. But once Orion, Mischief and Akaldeep arrived, many people came out of the remaining houses to get a better look at what they were seeing.  First of all, two animals, and one that has glowing eyes. And another human that had also survived the earth destruction. The town people applauded and created a celebration that included food and great laughter. Orion then showed them Akaldeep’s ability of dissolving the darkness. Akaldeep flew a few times over the town and suddenly the sunlight was shining on the town once again. Akaldeep flew back to Orion who, through the giving of a great hug, replenished Akaldeep’s power. The town people cheered and shouted that they are saved from the darkness. Hooray!!!

In the morning Orion and Mischief awoke, but Akaldeep was not there. Orion and Mischief hastily ran through the town, but nobody was there. The town people had left the town, and had taken Akaldeep with them. After waiting in that town for a few more days, and then without knowing what direction to take to find Akaldeep, Orion and Mischief headed back home. The house now feels empty without Akaldeep being there. Orion and Mischief remained without conversation as they stared at Akaldeep’s scratched-in name on the table top. However both of them noticed that the sky to the east appeared to have sunlight breaking through.

There was little sleep that night and when Orion awoke, Mischief wasn’t there. Orion quickly put on his sandals, took hold of his healing kit, and then in haste chased after Mischief heading to the new sunlight in the east. Orion already knew that Mischief had a plan and it was all about Akaldeep. The journey took almost three days to reach the town in the east and it now was night. Orion has no idea where Mischief is or where Akaldeep even is.

Mischief goes into stealth mode and in her full darkness camouflage, sneaks into a house in the town where she has a good feeling that Akaldeep is. She finds Akaldeep in a closed room, and Akaldeep is quite sick and out of energy. Mischief with all of her strength, drags Akaldeep to the door and to Mischief’s surprise, Orion is awaiting outside of the door. Immediately Orion grabs onto Akaldeep and gives him the greatest of loving hugs which flowed with many tears. Akaldeep becomes instantly reenergized.

The people of the town awake and all create a circle around Orion, Mischief and Akaldeep, trapping them within. They insist that Akaldeep now belongs to them. Orion explained and showed them how they were bringing more harm to Akaldeep by not allowing time for him to heal since he was being attacked by the darkness. The town people give no attention to Orion’s words and then further close the circle trapping Orion, Mischief and Akaldeep within. Alkadeep in fear insists for Orion and Mischief to immediately get onto Akaldeep’s back, and then Akaldeep jumps into the air and flew the three of them away to safety.

The three of them being together again brought great joy to their hearts. As Akaldeep flew, Mischief’s glowing eyes kept the darkness away from Akaldeep, and Orion was giving Akaldeep constant new energy. They were having so much fun being together that they circled the whole earth and once they did that, they continued to circle again and again circling the earth seven times in total, and then they returned home. Akaldeep filled the entire sky with his mist of light which gave a opening for Mother Nature to take the reign once again, and she regrew the earth into a new paradise.

The story of how Akaldeep, Mischief, and Orion saved the earth, became legend.

STORY  NOTES:

Akaldeep - “God’s Lamp”

Marty’s note: I believe Akaldeep is more of a description than a person or angel. Anybody whom is sharing God’s light is “Akaldeep.” The vessel of which God’s light comes through.

Major props to Stephanie Ruiz for her amazing paintings. Stephanie actually painted the eagle Akaldeep in March 2020 and it was created as a momento of the eagle gift I received from the Elders.

When I first started writing this story it was being presented like a scene out of a Terminator movie. It didn’t feel correct. Since Akaldeep and Mischief are adolescents in the story, I did a rewrite where it is now presented as a family story. Mischief at first was written as being male, but then I felt like the story would benefit with having a female presence to the story, so Mischief was changed to female. Which now at story end I feel that the Mischief change was a brilliant decision!

Mischief can also be Miss Chief since she likes to be in charge.

………………………………………….................…………………………

- Where the Akaldeep story comes from:

February 2020 I was given a spirit animal by the Elders. A beautiful Eagle. At that time I could physically feel the eagle’s wings slapping me on my head as it sat on my shoulder. But at that time I was doing nothing that required me to have a spirit animal so receiving it was quite a sudden surprise. So I did nothing with the eagle and it went dormant. Now in 2023 I feel that I need this eagle for reasons I have not fully figured out. I just know that the eagle is being called forward. I purchased a bone carving of a eagle and carried it on my hikes in the mountains and over two months time I can now feel that the eagle has come out of dormancy. The eagle is with me but is not separating itself from the totem.

During this same time somebody abandoned a black male kitten that has yellow/green eyes in the alley behind my house. Luckily the kitten chose my house making it his home. One day after doing some yard work I sat and the black kitten jumped up on my lap, looked up at me and then fell asleep on my lap. The feeling I was receiving from this kitten matched exactly the feeling I was getting from the eagle totem. It was really cool to piece that information together. This is how I came to the conclusion that the eagle is young and is male, and felt abandoned. I fell that I am the one to blame for abandoning the eagle since it remained dormant with me for close to three years. On my next few hikes in the mountains I could feel that the eagle was physically sitting always staying within five feet of me. So I started placing the eagle totem twenty or so feet away from me to separate the eagle from the totem. It was working!
Picture
Mischief

My next thought was that my eagle has yet to have a name so I looked up many names on the computer and almost none of them felt correct, but the word “Akaldeep” was continuously popping up. At first I had to repeat the name about thirty times to get the spelling correct. Akaldeep, Akaldeep, Akaldeep, Akaldeep. Then eventually I fell in love with the name. It is perfect for my eagle. The name feels like a plus plus in my mind since Akaldeep being God’s Lamp can provide to me additional light when I am out in the night.

When I am not hiking, the eagle totem resides on my rear view mirror in my vehicle. But in a weird way, over a two week period the eagle totem would fall off of the mirror. It was jumping off of the mirror and landing into my lap. I
found this to be super cool and possibly a sign that Akaldeep is attempting to fly. At times I was feeling like it was happening so much that it was becoming somewhat repetitive. Even though movement was going on, Akaldeep was still remaining close but distant to me. So I came up with a idea of writing a heroic story for Akaldeep, which will hopefully give great energy to my eagle.
Picture

Over a two week time as the story of Akaldeep was being written, I could feel Akaldeep being more present with my life. One day I was out in my garage where I used to use the top of the clothes dryer as a alter when I was meditating with my Shaman drum. From that time on, nothing but dust was allowed to touch the clothes dryer altar. So a few days ago I decided to reenergize the altar with burning sage and drumming. As I was cleaning the top of the dryer, I thought I saw movement and I looked over at the washer to see what it could be. I totally saw Akaldeep messing with his wings as he was standing on the washer. His presence was so apparent that I jumped slightly backwards when I saw that he was there. Like a shock reflex or something that gets the heart rate suddenly escalated. My reaction was more from seeing the size of the eagle, over him being there. I was totally psyched that I can now be with Akaldeep without the need of the totem being present.

In the written story, Akaldeep remains in the house with Mischief the cat. When I was leaving for work that day the eagle totem was presently in my house. I had it in my hand and it fell out a few times onto the carpet in my house. I found that to be really weird and a sign that Akaldeep wants to remain in the house with the cats. In the next part of the story Akaldeep accepts that now it is time for him to learn to fly. I feel excited for this since once my connection with Akaldeep is solid, I will actually be linked with Akaldeep’s self, being awake in the Astral and awake in the Physical at the same time. In the Astral, Akaldeep can fly me to wherever I seek to travel. Example: Akaldeep can be the perfect assistant for a hypnotherapist. In the Physical, Akaldeep can heighten my perception, almost feeling that I have a drone that can give me different perceptive views of anywhere I am presently at.

When I first entered the Shaman world, I thought it was just that easy. I just choose a animal and like wha-la, I get to have that animal. It didn’t work that way and if it did, I was only using my illusionary mind to pretend to create it. When I first received the eagle gift from the Elders I laughed. I laughed aloud like somebody was joking with me or something. That’s how real this eagle is. This is the reason I am going the distance writing a book and anything it takes to nudge my eagle from the nest and get him into flight.

Thank you Elders for giving me this greatest Akaldeep gift!!!

“If Eagle is your power animal, you feel the need to have an involvement with creation, a willingness to experience extremes, a willingness to use your abilities, a willingness to seek out your true emotions. You must become much more than you ever imagined would be possible.”

“Eagle symbolizes a state of being that is reached through inner work, understanding and passing the initiation tests that come about from reclaiming our personal power. Eagle is the gift of clear vision with which one can truly see, to live in balance with heaven and Earth. Eagle shows you how to look above so you are able to touch Grandfather Sun with your heart, to love the Shadow as much as the Light. You are being asked to give yourself permission to be free in order to reach the joy that your heart longs for.”
