Brad Davidson

From: Carolyn Pino       11/2023

Just dropped in the mail!

My dad, Brad Davidson, isn't  a regular climber (though he always enjoys going outside with me). He's an old school renaissance man and general outdoorsman with an appreciation for climbing history and a collector of treasures and interesting objects. He could never pass up vintage climbing gear he found at flea markets to which he frequented over the decades.  At some point he passed these on to me as he's trying to downsize,  and my husband and I also don't have much room.  He's thrilled to hear they will go to a good home!

Here's a picture of him climbing around on a roof.

Carolyn,

I received the box of your dads many climbing trinkets. A lot of really cool items in the box for sure!! Most of the items range from the late 1950s into the 1970s. I am going to put a piece together in the museum about your dad and the gear donation into the "People and their story" section in the museum. I received the photo you sent me of your dad rappelling on a roof. Do you have a profile photo of your dad to add to the post as well? He doesn't have to be climbing in the profile shot, more of a photo showing him and his face. I can put as many photos of him on the post that you want. The section in the museum will be his place so if you find more items in the future or photos of him, or you or all family etc, I will place them in his post.

Wow great stuff!!
Thank you for your museum support!!
Holiday Blessings to you and your family!!!
:)

Gerry pitons 1960,   CMI pitons 1963,  Charlet Moser pitons 1960s.  In one of the James Bond movies I believe it is the long Charlet Moser piton (lower) that James killed a bad guy by throwing it like a knife.

Chouinard plated pitons - made for marine use. The LONGware piton was made sometime between 1957 and 1963.

Forrest Titons - The majority of the Titons shown have only the "FM" manufacturer mark which places them at circa early 1973. By mid 1973 the "Tree" was added to the manufacturer mark.
