Sacred Insights from the Mountains & Motherland
Bridget Nielson 9/29/2025

Hello ,

I've missed you!

I've been in Europe for the past 3 weeks attending a 10-day silent Zen retreat, and then facilitating my women's retreat in Ireland!

What I experienced and gathered from the mountains and motherland was phenomenal. It will surely be passed on to you here and infused into my upcoming videos, podcasts, and offerings...

And I'm going to be real. I really needed this time away with like-hearted folks, nature, and spirit! When I arrived at the retreat center, in the breathtaking Spanish Pyrenees, I was quite anxious due to the large load I was carrying this summer...

I humbly gave myself to the process and both retreats. By the end of my time in magical Ireland, I felt completely at peace, balanced, and spiritually vital... and this serenity has stayed with me ever since.

Returning back to "real life," and especially back to America, the hyper-stimulation, fear, and scattered collective field is obvious and palpable.

I want to share two of the "tools" I've incorporated into my life as harmonizing balms for these times...

What are they?

Stillness and Focus

The spiritual clarity and knowingness that arise through quiet stillness and present focus create spaciousness for Truth — the whisper of your soul, cosmic principles, and virtues.

They are pillars of harmony and well-being that have been forgotten in New Age spirituality and our chaotic "culture."

If you don't know who you are (true self), where you are, or where you're going... programming, fear, unconscious impulses, and culture drive your state and monetize your attention. It is essential to have a focus— or you could call it aim... an intention that directs your attention.

In traditional lineages, both spiritual and artistic, there is always a focus. In Daoist chi gong and Zen meditation it's "mind in dantian" (the navel center) or mantra, and in fiber arts on a spinning wheel it's on the rhythm or "drafting" (pulling wool into thread)...

If focus is lost in the former, you'll be the person in the back of the meditation hall (or in life) overtaken by the mind, squirming and freaking out...  If aim is lost in the latter, your wool will get bunched up and chunky, creating a mess of tangled yarn.

So where to begin? Where does the focus or aim originate?

In stillness... a place beyond the mind.

This opens us to the space of spirited listening— to truly hear heart and soul. It is the STILL-POINT, the eye of the storm, a portal to the un-manifest being actualized from a higher aligned frequency.

Even if it's for a few minutes in your day, I invite you to create moments to be silent, still, and listen— to hear the higher call of your soul directing your aim... to let the dust settle, giving yourself a chance to let your inner waters become smooth so you can clearly see and reflect.

It's obvious, jumping around multiple continents this year, that turbulence isn't everywhere... it is a choice.

I feel more inspired than ever to reclaim my attention through intention— to be sovereign and devote myself to spirited aliveness!

You in, ?!

Sending you lots of love!

Sincerely,
Bridget
