In 1982 Chouinard added the #5 Brass Nut to the catalog. But at this same time Steel Nuts were being added to the Chouinard line of products which replaced the Brass Nuts. In 1986 Chouinard created the #6 Steel Nut. But these photos are showing a #6 Brass Nut that is not listed in any Chouinard catalogs. I am not sure if this item was even offered to the public. Original owner Stephen Carman. The design of the longer clear plastic wire keeper matches the 1990 style Steel Nuts so I believe this #6 Brass Nut was actually created sometime 1987-1990.
