I have found two versions of the 1978 GPIW (Chouinard) catalog. Maybe considered a Spring version and a Winter version. The catalog cover is the exact same but on the inside front cover one catalog is printed as "One Dollar" and the other is "Two Dollars." This is the first catalog that does not include a full page price list. The prices for the items are listed with the individual items shown throughout the catalog. This is also the time when Chouinard ice axes with wood shafts change over to ice axes being manufactured with carbon fiber shafts.
