Two different Chouinard - Chouinard carabiners for 1977.
- (Top) Tall nose at notch, tight carabiner body at gate ends.
- (Bottom) Flat square nose at notch, wide carabiner body at gate end.
- The bottom is marked with "JW" for Jim Waugh, donated by Paul Diefenderfer.
- Comparing the 1977 carabiner and 1978 carabiner, they are the same carabiner body with square nose at notch and wide carabiner body at gate end, but the 1977 is 2100kg, and the 1978 is 2200kg.
