I went all out on this new line of pitons called DOLTSPIKE pitons. Wow look at the shapes and how beautiful they came out! Patented of course!

I added more sizes to my DOLT Jacks and came out with smaller sizes as well named DOLT Bits.

On one side it has a photo of the Nose Route first ascent, or me on the Traitor Horn. On the back side is a advertisment for climbing shoes. |

I added a few more nuts to my DOLT nuts selection. The Teechock is really cool, but what is more groovey, is my Gruvychock.

The DOLT Bashchocks I made in 16 sizes overall. Each size is 1/16" larger from the other. Eventually I was told by climbers that I can narrow my sizes to just 3 of the smaller sizes, since they were using my DOLT nuts as Bashchocks as well.

Adding to my DOLT piton line is the new DOLTANGLE. Notice that it also bears the signature DOLT eye carabiner hole.
It is the only super Angle Piton made today. |

Over in Ventura California in the Chouinard Tin Shed, Yvon and Tom had many employees working for them creating the Chouinard products. At this time Chouinard only had one original piece of gear that they made which was the RURP. All other Chouinard products were copies and improvements of gear from other manufacturers, that were already available to the public. |

Bill created many original DOLT products and still at this time was the only employee of the DOLT company. Bill worked at his McDonnall Douglas job in the daytime, and worked in the DOLT shop during the nights.
|
|
|
Every piece of DOLT gear had a DOLT manufacturers tag on it which included Bills personal signature on the tag. To Bill all of his products were works of art, and he wanted everybody to also recognize his amazing art.

Bill enjoyed writing poetry, and his writings he included into his products…..

Presently I am working on a new double rope DOLT heavy duty rescue pulley.

Another design in the works is the TWINKLEDOLT head lamp.

I created a new nut which I have not figured out what the best name for it is yet, so I name it the SPIDERNUT or the CRUDNUT. This DOLT nut is great for poor sandstone or poor granite cracks.

In 1969 Bill returned to Stoney Point which sparked interest in his soul for climbing. Here in this photo Bill figured out the moves to a difficult boulder problem, and then showed off on how he can boulder the problem one handed while carrying a large rock. Bill continued to write more poems through 1970 |
