Ice Screws Display

I moved out of Michigan to get away from the snow so when afterwards I discovered rock climbing, climbing back in the snow was never my main goal. However over the years for the museum I have picked up a few ice axes, crampons etc. But my biggest attraction to the ice climbing world has been with the older ice pitons and ice screws. Now a few years later after I created this ice screw display in September 2017, my ice screw collection has grown three times as much. I am psyched to  someday create a second ice screw display to share the many awesome other ice screws I have in the museum.
This display is at the Phoenix Rock Gym.

Correction, the twisted orange colored ice piton is not made by Salewa as listed on the display tag, it is made by Steidle in 1962.

The orange colored ice wart hog screw donated by Pete Takeda is made by Mountain Technologies in the 1970s.

Through a extensive piton study by John Middendorf the ice piton listed as being made in 1900 is being changed to being created the earliest time being 1918. The previous owner of the piton stated that it is indeed 1900, but due to the perfect eye the piton has, which is a Fiechtl 19teens first design, this piton eye had to be created more around the later 19teens. My gut feeling is that it was made around 1922.
