Not sure if the Chouinard 1987 and 1988 versions were ever made as shown and offered to the public, but these are the pictures shown in the Chouinard catalogs.

This is the nut tool shown in the 1987 catalog that has the larger holes on the nut tool handle. Since it has larger holes it can easily be bent in half so I believe this nut tool did not get past the prototype stage and the nut tool was redesigned with smaller holes being on the nut tool handle. Original owner Stephen Carman.

Dolt Nutcracker nut tool. Nut tools made by Don Lauria and Ken Boche in 1975. The Nutcrackers were made from the left over Dolt piton blanks that Bill Feuerer still had in his shop after his death. The Nutcrackers were sold as a long piton blade, where some people that purchased them grinded a notch into the blade to create a hook shape to assist in removing stuck climbing nuts. Ten Nutcrackers were made of Titanium (Titanium sample is bottom piton in the photo).

I always wondered if there was another generation of the Leeper Hustler nut tool made, and Gary Storrick identified that there is. Two different manufacturer marks, one in capital letters and one in lower case letters. Looking at my older Leeper bolt hangers, first generation has no mfg mark, then the next generation has mark in all capital letters. So possibly the items marked in all capital LEEPER letters, are the oldest generation.
