The Masters Display was created for the 2009 Summer Outdoor Retailers Show in Utah. Since there are many people who attend these shows that are actually the designers of climbing gear, I came up with a idea of creating a challenge display where you can handle the gear then see if you could answer a few simple questions. For each piece of gear guess the manufacturers name, the country it was made in, the name of the piece of gear, and what year it was created. Underneath the photos of the gear pieces were the answers to the questions, in a cleverly designed flip open foam core squares system. I teamed up with Stephane Pennequin of the Nuts Museum in Corsica. Stephane supplied me with all the information of the question answers to the pieces of gear I chose for the challenge. A specially designed display bar was created that the gear could hang off of and it was attachable to any grid wall system and was theft proof. I can't remember but I believe that the display was located in the main isle attached to the SMC Booth. I really enjoyed the challenge of creating this type of display!! Big THANKS Stephane!!! On the last day of the show I went bouldering in Little Cottonwood canyon and at the end of the day I fell off of the boulder falling only 5' into a leaf pile and somehow broke my Femur bone in 5 places. Stephane at the same time was in the hospital as well for a hernia operation.......
