My second time I visited Hueco Tanks I was guided by Rob Rice and some of the other guides that were wearing t-shirts that stated “Nothing over V4.” The warm up problems were fun and then things continued to progress to harder problems. Of course those guys were telling me that I should send these problems easy since they were putting me on nothing over V4. Eventually I was getting shut down since my limit was around V6. Later back at the Rock Ranch, Rob with a smile said I was a good sport and showed me the guidebook that showed I was being put on V10s and stuff throughout the day. I just wanted to slap them after that as they laughed. I was psyched nevertheless as I did all of the moves on Sex after Death V9 all the way to the throw to the left move at the top of the problem. I was just too scared to make the move. Rob ran over and spotted me through a newer V8 that I flashed. I was having trouble with V7 Better Eat Your Sweeties, but then I unofficially sent V8 Better Eat Your Wheaties. I say unofficially since my right hand was on the correct start, but my left hand was on the secondary move hold. When I was leaving the Ranch to go back home to AZ, Rob presented me with a really cool Prana

keychain that was hanging on a rusty nail in the Rock Ranch. The keychain was given to Rob as a gift from the Swiss powerhouse Fredric Nicole. Rob wanted me to have it! I got home and using a rusty nail I still have it hanging in my living room today. My best Hueco send was from a sit down start of the V8 Mushroom Roof. Joe Czerwinski told me that the problem actually starts by standing, so the extension I did my be a V9 variation. After that send I ran over to V0 Melon Patch and scared the shit out of myself on those high off the ground final moves. Great fun!!
