The last Sunday of each month the road from Central Ave up to the top of the mountain is closed all day to vehicles. Only hiking, biking, or petal assist electric bikes are allowed on the road.

For 2 1/2 years I had some climbing gear stashed in a secret place at South Mountain. When I retrieved the gear I was surprised that the vermin had not taken it all! My Prana chalkbag was of great interest, as well as two of the smaller Petzl stash bags. My climbing shoes were untouched and the webbing was untouched. I am excited that I was able to provide additional nesting materials for the vermin's!!
