The earliest mention of Stubai ice pitons I can find is 1955. The "Good Companions" Catalogue c.1959 shows Stubai. The longest ice piton shown may be a Stubai, showing what looks like a feint mfg mark, but not 100% sure. All three ice pitons have a Austria mark on them. The drawing of the ice pitons in the Good Companions Catalogue look more like the longest of the three ice pitons in the photo. The teeth cuts on the shaft are spread evenly throughout. On the two shorter ice pitons the teeth cuts are close together on one side near the tip, and on the opposite side near the piton eye. Note: The two shorter ice pitons may be a transition piece from F.Ralling into Stubai (Earlier 1950s).
Stubai - Made in Austria - c.late 1950s/1960 - From Matthias Hofle
Looking at these ice pitons closer, there is no word "Stubai" on them, so these may be pre Stubai mark being pre circa 1955
Made in Austria ice piton with ring. Possibly early 1950s.
