From Gary Storrick:
April 11, 2025

Hi Marty, I have another unidentified ice screw that I did not ask you about because you had it listed as “UNKNOWN # 3 - Ice Screw.”

I have a suggested identification from 1980 and 1983 catalogs that I have. The eye shape is distinctive and the screw & catalog shapes match.

What do you think?
………………………………
Gary,
That's a great find on the catalog ice screw info. Hmmmmmm....
The thread count does not match but this could be a different years model.
Cassin is usually very good at marking their gear.
But the unique ice screw eye for the carabiner does match so this info is leading forward to something.
For sure I will add it to my website.
What I might do is leave it as Unknown Ice Screw #3 with your added info. And also put this info in the Cassin ice screws page I already have.
I will say it is a very stout ice screw for sure!!
Thanks for the info!!
:)

UNKNOWN # 4 - Ice Screws
- No manufacturers marks on the items
- Made of steel
- From Yuuki Takahashi
 - Possibly ICI - made in Japan
- circa ...?
- The longer ice screw does not have a channel cut out in the middle of the ice screw tube. Possibly this is a different version that the screws came with or without the cut out channel.
