I was seeking a more third dimensional way of creating art and came up with the idea of using screws in different lengths to bring my art more alive. Now instead of the art piece just being flat, the art piece has a way of continually changing depending on where the viewer is looking at it from. At first I installed a bunch of screws into a wood block and then painted the end of the screws, but the finished look was not coming out the way I envisioned it to be. I tried over and over with different ideas and still my inner vision of the art was not matching the way the art was being presented. Then I discovered if all of the screw heads face the same direction, and only two directions of the four on the screw head itself was painted, the art piece now came to life. To perfect this screw art process, it is much more time consuming than one may think. I created around a dozen different screw art pieces, then I went after the grand masterpiece, the fish tank. All of these screw art pieces were painted with a single toothpick.
